Fresenius – the medical group

Fresenius is a globally operating medical group located in Bad Homburg. The group offers products and services for dialysis, hospitals and the medical treatment of patients. Further fields of business are hospital management as well as engineering and services for hospitals. In nearly 100 countries more than 110.000 employees are involved in medical services.

The Fresenius group is divided into four business areas which act independently worldwide: Fresenius Medical Care, Fresenius Kabi, Fresenius Helios and Fresenius Vamed.

Fresenius Medical Care is the worldwide leading supplier of products and services for people who suffer from chronic renal failure. The group offers a wide range of products for haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis like haemodialysis engines, dialyser and corresponding one-way products.

Fresenius Kabi is the leading company throughout Europe in nutrition and infusion therapy. The products – e.g. nourishments, solutions for blood volume replacement or generically administered medicine – are used in hospital as well as for patients who get medical outpatient treatment.

Fresenius Helios is one of the largest and medically leading clinics in Europe. The private clinic is specialised in processing and operative management of hospitals. The group owns 60 hospitals, five of them are emergency clinics and located in Hesse: three general hospitals in Bad Schwalbach, Idstein and Hünfeld as well as two certified vascular centres in Bad Nauheim and Grebenhain.

Fresenius Vamed is globally trading project and management operations of medical facilities. Customers are hospitals, medical centres as well as thermal baths and wellness centres. The group employs about 1.800 people and has realised nearly 450 medical projects in 47 countries since its establishment in 1982.
